In three acts, AMÉFRICA has a fragmented but complementary narrative. Act 1: The Tattooed Scar, written by Claudia Schapira, is an online film that viewers must watch beforehand. Act 2: The Resumption, is an intervention play written by Aldri Anunciação. Act 3: The Storm, written by Dione Carlos, is a performative, counter-narrative intervention that combines video installation, music, dance, mixtape, theater, and performance. The play also includes video interventions – with reproductions of speeches by intellectuals and artists, as well as dialogues with other artists. “The idea of 'Confluence in Retomada' is the metaphor of the show itself, our role is to locate it in a space where the tensions of our society are revealed, in which black and indigenous people still struggle to escape genocide and structural racism, seeking to recover dignity and freedom in a colonial system that is constantly updated”, explains director Eugenio Lima.
