Lasting eleven minutes, this installation proposes a sensitive dialogue between a musical composition by Neo Muyanga and two video projections created by Bianca Turner. The space is occupied by two video channels simultaneously displaying the same image: one on the front wall and the other on the floor of the room. This latest version is a reworking of the original recording, now reflected on a water surface, creating an immersive visual effect. Everything happens in sync with a quadraphonic sound installation, where the sound of the piano emanates from the four corners of the space, enveloping the audience.

The work is based on maps drawn by members of the Demarcation Commission at the end of the 18th century. From these references, Turner used current images of the Google Maps to investigate some of the most emblematic rivers in Brazilian territory. Its focus is on the historical trajectory of territorial occupation that began on the coast and continues, to this day, towards the interior of the country – culminating in an intense and ongoing dispute over the lands of the Amazon Rainforest. The installation invites reflection on these temporal and political layers inscribed in the Brazilian landscape.
