In this show, the actress does not know all the texts, nor the narrative sequence of the evening's script; new texts are recorded for each performance and played through headphones. The work, which is based on the Myth of Cassandra, emphasizes the interventionist nature of this proposition that explores the voice as a character and brings to light the violence inflicted over time on female discourse, massacred in an explicit or veiled way.
CASSANDRA EFFECT – IN THE SILENCE OF THE VOICE is a show/oracle that navigates between Theater and Performance, a work in constant transformation. A platform that unfolds and changes with each presentation, emphasizing the interventionist nature of this proposition that explores the voice as a character and brings to light the violence inflicted over time on female discourse, massacred in an explicit or veiled way. This buried, silenced, ridiculed, discredited, delegitimized voice gains the dimension of a character and is placed in historical perspective.
Based on the Myth of Cassandra, insubordinate historical discourses that have been buried/cursed over time are recovered. The character works as a kind of trigger to bring to light figures and discourses that in their time did not have the opportunity to occupy their rightful agora. We have on stage an actress who is stunned by voices and who, in order to free herself from this mental noise, materializes these voices, one by one, drawing a panel/mosaic of these characters in history.
