'what I could have been and I am not', 2016

'What I could have been and I am not', is an installation in which a book of 'behaviors' and etiquette is intercepted by 2 fans. The wind from the fans causes the book's page to remain stable, upright and vertical. The book is illuminated by a video projection of the shadow of the book's pages turning, and the sound of the pages turning is also amplified by speakers.

This installation is a metaphor for how we get stuck in patterns and expectations of how to act, what to be, goals we have to achieve during life, and before we know it we are getting older, repeating patterns and living a stagnant life in which our inner aspirations have not been fulfilled. We could be turning the pages, but, stuck in the past and the present, we are unable to take a free step towards what we could be.
